Our studio primarily produces Orthodox Christian icons, iconography for churches, and a broad range of secular and other religious works. We consult and decorate churches, synagogues, secular institutions, monasteries, and private homes and carry out work for individuals. Our principals are painters and students of the Pimen Sofronov* the Old Believer Master Iconographer Пимен Софронов* (of blessed memory) and Jordanville School of icon painting, our head of studio is a classically trained exhibiting painter, and former instructor in figure drawing, we have a staff of nine. Intense, spiritual and dogmatic, our works are in the unbroken tradition going back to St Luke the Evangelist and Apostle, they are biblical and theological works produced with natural ancient and modern materials and paints, gold, beaten gold, and other precious materials, with prayer and fasting according to sacred tradition. All Orthodox images are strictly faithful to the canon of iconography. Having studied in Greece, Washington, Russia, Italy, and Great Britain, our principal painted for many years with Dimitrios Dukas (memory eternal) the Master Byzantine Iconographer and Mosaicist and the designer Gleb A. Greitz, and the master iconographer Father Theodore Koufos, Paris Impressionist C.H. Pelletier. We are equally conversant in Russian, Latin, Eastern-Rite, Greek and Old Believer styles and are multi lingual. All our Christian and non Christian wall fresco, mosaic, mural and panel and renaissance style works, are executed with great care and attention to tradition. We are specialists in art conservation and restoration. A recent secular project of “The Paintings of Pompeii” was installed in a Greenwich, CT., pool house with comprehensive faux finishes in adjacent areas. Emergency art disaster mitigation is available 365. We specialize in all areas of design and the execution and installation of projects from architecture, restoration and precious metals. We are happy to work with your vicar, rabbi, rector, architect, interior designer or deanery.
